Repetitive Language

Talk about the repetitive language of the book: “I’m a wide-mouthed frog and I eat flies,” said the wide-mouthed frog. “What do you eat,  ____?”

Using highlighting tape, have your child highlight what the wide-mouthed frog says on each page. 

Reread the book and have your child say the parts for the wide-mouthed frog.

Talk about what it means to pucker your lips. Have your child pucker his/her lips. You pucker your lips. Talk about foods that might make you pucker your lips. Discuss why the frog wanted to pucker his lips.
