For Children of All Ages
There are six items delivered in envelopes in this book. Below are ideas to use with each of the deliveries.

The first letter delivered in the book was an apology letter Goldilocks wrote to the three bears. Have children write back to Goldilocks as one of the three bears. Students could also write an apology letter to a friend or family member about something they wish to apologize for.
The second item was an advertisement for products delivered to the Wicked Witch in the Gingerbread house. Students can pick another fairy tale character and decide what kind of advertisements they would like to get in the mail. For example, the three stepsisters from Cinderella might like to get an advertisement for beauty items or dressy gowns that they could use for the ball.
Have students choose a character from a book they are reading and design an advertisement specifically for that character.
The third item was a postcard from Jack to the giant in Jack and the Beanstalk. Have students get postcards form their town and mail them to another class in a different state. Students could design their own postcards for the town in which they live.
Have each student choose a different state to research. They can then design a postcard from that state making sure it depicts some of the important facts about that state.

The fourth item was a note saying Piper Press hopes to publish a book about Cinderella’s marriage to the prince. Students can write a new chapter to the Cinderella fairy tale. What happened after the shoe fit and they got married?
The fifth item was a letter from an attorney telling the Big Bad Wolf that he had no business being in Red Riding Hood’s house, and that the Three Pigs were suing for damages. Think about other fairy tale characters. Which ones might need an attorney to help them “sue for damages” and which ones might need an attorney to represent them because they did something wrong? For example, the Three Bears might sue Goldilocks for going into their house and eating the food, breaking the chair, and causing damage to the house in general.
The sixth item was a birthday card for Goldilocks. Have students create a birthday card for a friend or family member.
